ABOUT MAD

Located in Owings Mills, Maryland, The Maryland Academy of Dance & Performing Arts provides comprehensive dance and performing arts education for students ages 2 through adult. With six fully equipped studios, MAD offers thoughtful programming for beginners, recreational students, dedicated performers, and dancers pursuing advanced or professional training.

Our experienced faculty brings knowledge from a wide range of disciplines while sharing one collective purpose: to help every student feel supported, challenged, and inspired. Whether a student wants to build confidence, explore a new art form, stay active, perform onstage, or pursue an artistic career, there is a place for them at MAD.

More than dance, MAD is a place where students discover their strengths, develop meaningful relationships, and grow into confident artists and individuals.

VISION

Our vision is a world in which every person has access to the transformative power of dance and the performing arts. We envision an inclusive community where students feel seen, valued, and empowered to express themselves while developing confidence, character, discipline, creativity, and lifelong friendships.

Through exceptional training, positive mentorship, and meaningful performance experiences, we strive to inspire students to recognize their potential both inside and beyond the studio.

MISSION

Our mission is to provide exceptional, inclusive dance and performing arts education that develops the whole student. Through progressive training, compassionate leadership, and a supportive community, we nurture technical excellence, artistry, self-discipline, teamwork, positive body image, and personal responsibility.

We meet students where they are and provide clear opportunities for growth—from a joyful first class to advanced and pre-professional training. At MAD, every student is encouraged to work with purpose, lead with confidence, and carry the lessons learned through the arts into every area of life.
