About This Pathway

The Student Teacher Pathway prepares students to become confident, knowledgeable, and professional classroom leaders. Students receive training in classroom support, child development, communication, demonstration, lesson preparation, safety, professionalism, and teaching technique. Students progress through increasingly advanced responsibilities based on readiness, performance, and program needs.

Who Can Apply

Students age 11 and older who are interested in teaching, mentoring younger students, and developing classroom leadership skills. Placement is determined by MAD based on readiness, current training, maturity, scheduling, and program needs.

How STEP Works

Students participate in structured training, weekly assignments, supervised practical experience, professional development, feedback, and evaluation. Placement and advancement are based on readiness, performance, professionalism, and program needs.
